A one of a kind heirloom art doll, handcrafted in Melbourne, Australia by artist Kate Karsten.
Each doll is individually made, signed and dated, using beautiful natural materials including linen, cotton, wool and antique textiles.
Her hair is created from 100% Australian alpaca wool and carefully hand stitched into place. Delicate facial features are embroidered by hand in cotton, while her limbs are hand stitched and finished with wooden buttons.
She wears a lined linen dress, a softly crocheted pure wool shawl, antique cotton bloomers tied with silk, and a cotton undergarment wrap. Her tiny painted boots are finished with hand stitched laces.
Her dress, shawl, wrap and bloomers are removable. Her alpaca hair is permanently hand stitched and should not be brushed, and the laces on her painted boots are not removable.
As each doll is entirely handmade, small variations and individual characteristics are part of her character and make every piece unique.
This is a delicate heirloom art doll intended for display and gentle handling. She is not suitable for young children.
Made slowly, by hand, to be cherished for generations.
