An apothecary of scent and stillness.

At Karsten & Co, we craft small-batch aromatherapy goods using locally sourced, natural ingredients. Each piece is made with 100% pure, plant-distilled essential oils, soft cotton, and natural linen—thoughtfully composed and hand-finished in Victoria, Australia.

The story begins with Kate.

At eighteen, among the early mornings and quiet rituals of a Melbourne flower shop, she developed a deep sensitivity to fragrance—the way fresh blooms carry both memory and mood. By twenty-one, she was managing a boutique florist within the Hilton Hotel, surrounded daily by layered botanical scents and the art of arrangement.

Years later, after opening her own flower shop with her sister Lisa, that connection to natural fragrance deepened into something more intentional. A search began—for candles that felt true to nature, both in scent and substance. What she found instead was compromise: paraffin waxes derived from petroleum, and synthetic fragrance oils designed in laboratories.

So she began to make her own.

After years of careful formulation and experimentation, Karsten & Co emerged—offering a considered range of aromatherapy candles, reed diffusers, and custom essential oil blends. Each product is created to bring a sense of calm, clarity, and quiet luxury to everyday spaces.

Our eye pillows and lupin-filled cushions are also handcrafted in-house, designed for rest and gentle restoration.

We use only pure essential oils—true plant extractions drawn from flowers, herbs, and roots through steam distillation. These oils are unblended, undiluted, and uncompromised. Nothing added, nothing taken away.

Every ingredient is sourced locally wherever possible, with a focus on quality, simplicity, and sustainability.
